What a day !

Although the time is half past 1, I have had quite the day already !

On my way to the library a man accidentally slapped my Oyster card out of my hand and it went under the train! The platform guard held out his hand, stopped the train in the middle of the platform to jump down on the platform and get my card. It was quite dramatic and embarrassing when he gave me the card in front of everyone waiting on the platform. But what a man !

Of course a serious of quite unfortunate things have happened after that, (sjaldan er ein báran stök) but I am just putting on my Pollyanna attitude, nothing will bring me down :)!

Now it is time to do some reading

And here a bit of Saturday inspiration

Richard Avedon quotes+images ! inspiration

Yesterday I came across this quote by the master of photography Richard Avedon and I really connected with it :
 __

"And if a day goes by without my doing something related to photography, it's as though I've neglected something essential to my existence, as though I had forgotten to wake up. I know that the accident of my being a photographer has made my life possible." - Richard Avedon - 1970
__

My portraits are more about me than they are about the people I photograph.

The last 2 years photography has really taken over my life, and almost not a day goes by that I am not shooting, editing, researching, emailing or talking about something related to photography. And even if I decide to take the day completely off I happen to see something that inspires my next shoot or I even dream about it.

It is just such a great feeling being able to work with what you really love todo and even after a 18 hour workday you are still feeling blessed and happy and excited for the next shoot !

Saying that I really can't wait to show you my last 2 shoots I did !!! :)

Now here are some images by Richard Avedon

I also love this quote as it makes so much sense:

I always prefer to work in the studio. It isolates people from their environment. They become in a sense . . .symbolic of themselves. I often feel that people come to me to be photographed as they would go to a doctor or a fortune teller - to find out how they are -  Richard Avedon

Inspiration - Dahpne Groeneveld model

I've been watching Daphne Groeneveld for a few years now and I am absolutely in love with her look !
At only 18 years old she has been on the covers of magazine such as Vogue, I-D and LOVE magazine, starred campaigns for Miu Miu, Givency, Lois Vuitton, Dior and many more as well as walked the runway for everyone from Versace to Chanel to Gucci.
If I got a job tomorrow saying I could cast any model in the world I am pretty sure she would be very high on the list, if not the first one !

Steed Lord - Bed of Needles - inspiration

My jaws dropped when I saw Steed Lord's new video Bed of Needles !

The colours, editing, styling, makeup, choreography, dancers, Kali herself and just everything !!
It just can't go wrong when you combine Steed Lord and Sonya Tayeh
Like they recommend I would watch it in HD, full screen ( the bigger the better ) with headphones or stereo system  to fully enjoy it !
