London Fashion Week - last day's in photos

Last Friday I stopped by at Somerset house for an hour to snap a few streetstyle images, chat with friends - and have a cup of coffee with fellow photographer Kári.

The weather was terrible, pouring rain and windy but I still managed to get a few photos. The images and more information will be up in the next days :)

I also ran into my friend Peggy, it was quite hard to keep up a conversation with her as she is hunted by photographers wanting to photograph her style. The 4th time that someone asked for her photo while we were talking I snapped a photo of her being photographed head to toe while I was standing there on the side :) She is definitely one of a kind so what her here : http://peggygould.tumblr.com/ 

Yesterday was also a pretty great day. I was shooting backstage at Sadie Clayton's first fashion show. The show was great and everything went perfectly, I am so proud of her !

7th of February I also shot her lookbook for the collection. Arize TV was there to film behind the scenes and interview Sadie. Tuesday the 4th of February

First of all I have to say that no 2 days in my life are the same. Being a fashion photographer doesn't mean that you have a photoshoot each day as much time is spent in researching and post production, this was one of those days and it was a bit funky to be honest :)

7am - Woke up, got dressed and had breakfast, this time a chia seed pudding with fresh berries and a banana, a glass of water and vitamins.

9am - The week before I was offered a free haircut at Vidal Sassoon, e.g. to be a hair model for a trainee and get a free haircut. I decided to go if she would agree on not changing my hairstyle but just trim it. That was pretty nice :)

11am - I went to the LCF library to study for my dissertation. I took a photo of the University's Vogue collection. There you see Vogue's from 1929, from UK, USA, Japan, France and Italy.

1pm - I met my friend Hera Hilmar and we went to have our auras photographed. For those who don't know what aura is, it is the energy that surrounds each and every person. Everyones aura is different and different colours and shapes have different meaning. I originally went there as a part of my research for my final major project. I think it is important to step out of the box and explore different mediums to be inspired. Whether people believe it is true or not, I don't really care, I really enjoyed the experience and it is going straight to my sketchbook :)

 3pm - Me and Hera had lunch at Pot and read our Aura reports :) 17 pages about the meaning of our Aura and our Chakras.

 5pm - I went back to uni to scan in some films but unfortunately there were no free scanners this time so instead I went home and worked on some artist portraits I had shot the day before.

20:30 pm - I went for a run. Me and my friend Sandra are running buddies, although she is in Iceland and I am here in London. We use the app Runkeeper to encourage each other and to track our records. I really recommend the app, it really gets you going.

21:30 pm - Late dinner that my boyfriend Hilmar, cooked for me.

23:30 pm - bedtime

New look, and backstage with Sadie Clayton

 Hello everyone and a happy Sunday, as promised here is a picture of my new look, shorter blonder hair and yes I bleached my eyebrows as well - why ? because why not :) 

I have tried coloring my eyebrows darker so many times but it just doesn't suit me at all, so I thought I might as well give this a try and I really like it. I recommend that if you feel like being adventures and change something just give it a try ! You can always colour them back on very easily.

Last Friday I shot Sadie Clayton's new lookbook for her A/W 2014 collection, which she will be showing on London Fashion Week.

 Sadie is a very interesting personality, she lives for fashion and puts so much passion into her work. This is Sadie's first collection after graduating from Kingston Uni last year.

What made the shoot even more interesting is that we had a visit from a TV news channel AriseTV filming behind the scene and interviewing Sadie. So I guess we will be featured on Sky TV next week  :) I will of course update you then.

And finally on another note, do any other photographers find themselves in all these awkward positions like I do ? 

In every shoot I grab something to stand on but somehow I always end up in an awkward position kneeling on top of it instead of just stepping down.  So much unnecessary effort :) !

Behind the scenes and throwback images *

If you have an instagram account you might have noticed people tagging #throwback or #tbt and posting old images with the tag. Well I wanted to play that game as well, so here are 2 I've posted over the last weeks.

12 Moons - the first photo I ever created for an exhibition. The theme of the exhibition was masculinity/femininity. Can you tell the gender by their asses ?

And secondly this image of Silja from a test shoot I did 3 years ago. She is wearing a dress I made out of paper and tied around her on the spot. I am pretty sure this photoshoot is the reason why my university sent me to BA in Styling and Photography instead of just BA in Photography. Learning both is good but I will always be photographer not a stylist, I am simply too much of a gadget girl :) -  But I have to say that I am quite proud of that dress :) !

 And finally  backstage images from my newest shoot, a makeup editorial out soon * Can't wait to show you that one ! I will be scanning in some negatives tomorrow :)

And finally on another note I coloured my hair platinum blond last Saturday, tomorrow I have a haircut,  and I am bleaching my eyebrows as well ! 

I am going to be a hair model for Vidal Sassoon  and I can't wait ! 

So expect a "newlook" image tomorrow

ohh yes and if everything goes as planned I am having my Aura photographed as well ! xx
